Proposition GCR2

On April 7, 2026, the Gasconade County R-2 School District will ask voters to consider an extension to the current debt tax levy of .67 cents per $100 in assessed value, in order to procure $14.9 million in bonds for several facility upgrades. This bond proposal will retain the current debt service levy rate (also known as a no-tax-rate increase), which has been in place since 2006. The purpose of this page is to provide information to voters. Questions? Email stacijohnson@dutchmen.us or call (573) 646-1015.

GCR2's values are tradition, pride, and excellence. Our goal is for every student to graduate with the five traits outlined in our portrait of a graduate: resilient learner, collaborative problem-solver, effective communicator, responsible citizen, and empathetic adult. Our community helped to define these values during the last five years of our strategic planning process.

In 2023 and 2024, GCR2 ran two bond issues, which were favored by the majority of voters but failed to meet the 56.7% majority required to pass.

For the last two years, we have gone back to our constituents, focused on our values, and reorganized our long-range planning committee to review and make new recommendations to the Board of Education.
