Welcome buses 102 and 103 to the fleet! We have one of the largest geographical school districts in the state with a lot of ground to cover, so having safe and reliable transportation for our students is a district priority. A goal of GCR2 is to be able to cycle 2 new buses into the fleet each school year to keep up with this need. These new buses even feature back-up cameras!

Next week GCR2 will be hosting open house at each of the school buildings in the district. OES and GES will have their open house night on Tuesday, August 12th from 5pm-7pm, and OHS and OMS will have their open house nights on Wednesday, August 13th from 5pm-7pm. Our Ag Department at Owensville High School is in good hands! Led by Mollie Henneke, Cody Hendrix, and Matt Ketcherside, they have already been hard at work this summer. They have been very busy checking in with students on their SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) projects, working with the Gasconade County Fair, and a variety of improvements they have made to facilities here on campus. In these photos, you can see them working on the shrubbery and landscaping outside of the Ag building, the shop (which they have put a ton of time into making a better space for the students), and the back lot behind the Ag building. Tonight, our Long Range Facilities Committee met to get a first look at the upgrades to the OHS gym and to discuss current projects and potential future projects in the district. Over the summer, the big gym at OHS got new bleachers and a fresh coat of paint. We are so excited for our students and community to see the new look of the gym!

In order to participate on the first day of scheduled in season practice, all participants must have a physical (completed within 2 years), code of conduct, drug testing policy form, and annual form on file with the athletic office. These forms can be accessed and printed in the link below. If you need a physical copy you can either ask your coach or director, or stop by the athletic office at OHS. Once the forms are completed they either need to be turned into the coach/director or delivered to the athletic office at the Owensville High School. Students cannot participate at practice in-season until these forms are turned in.

We are only two weeks away from the start of the 2025-2026 school year! Be sure to log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to complete registration BEFORE the start of school on Monday, August 18th for a chance to win a new 2025 Apple iPad 11. One winner from each building (OES, GES, OMS, and OHS) will be chosen from students who have registration completed prior to the start of school. To be eligible to win the iPad you also have to fill out the Benefits Application form and email it to Lori Angell at loria@dutchmen.us You can find a copy of the Benefits Application in the registration process. We anticipate that some questions will arise regarding the income verification form that families are asked to complete during online registration. From reduced fees to grant qualifications, this has a massive impact on our district. Note that any free/reduced status is confidential and only accessible to district admin staff. Thank you for your support of district programs.

We are excited to partner with the Owensville Police Department and the Gasconade County Sheriff's Department to ensure all students have what they need to start the year right! Help us pack the patrol car!
