Congratulations to GCR2 School Board members Jenni Crosby and Kari Nolting for achieving Advanced Board Member Certification from the Missouri School Boards' Association.
To achieve Advanced Certification, board members must complete at least one year of board service, complete New Board Member and Refresher training through MSBA, attend at least 80 percent of all of their own board's meetings, attend six MSBA events, attend two other districts' board meetings and write reflections on those visits, and read a book related to board governance and write a reflection.
Thank you for investing your own personal time for the betterment of our students and community!

Congratulations are in order for incoming OHS Senior Jayden Hubbard! She was selected as one of the Missouri Art Education Association State Student Art Ambassadors.
Jayden is incredibly active in the Arts here at OHS and in our community. At OHS she is the incoming Art Club/NAHS (National Art Honor Society) President, the President for Troubadours, the Secretary for the Drama Club and Thespian Troupe, and the Mellophone Section Leader in Band. Additionally, she works with the Owensville Arts Council and is even playing the leading role of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz that you can see at the Owensville Community Theater this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Check out what the following people had to say on Jayden:
Jessie Bayless, OHS Art Teacher
"Jayden is an all around Arts student. She excels in everything she does! Her perseverance and passion for learning has always set her apart. She is a wonderful inspiration and such a dedicated advocate for all the arts! Your leadership voice at the state student visual art table will be so impactful!"
Kaye West, Owensville Arts Council Theatre Director
“Jayden is a delight to work with at the community theater. It doesn’t matter whether she has a small role or a major role in our plays, Jayden gives it her best effort. Currently, she is our Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. This role requires not only acting, but also some singing and a little bit of dancing. Jayden is fantastic with every aspect of that character!”
Bethanie Ward, OHS/OMS Vocal Choirs Director
"I am so thrilled for Jayden being selected as a State Student Art Ambassador by MAEA! Jayden is entering her third year in Troubadours and has been a foundational member of this ensemble both as a singer and a leader. She has pushed herself to become a better singer and musician while encouraging others in the ensemble to do their best at all times. Jayden leads by example both in and out of the classroom. I am excited to see her take on the role of choir president this year within our own classroom as well as her other roles in the arts here at OHS, in the community, and now at the state level. Jayden is truly a wonderful young person and I think she is going to thrive in this new position!"
Adrienne Gonzalez, Former OHS Drama/Theatre Director and current OES Assistant Principal
"Jayden is an exceptional student both on and off the stage. She has a remarkable ability to meet every challenge with confidence, grace, and an unwavering work ethic. No matter what is asked of her, I know she'll not only rise to the occasion, but she'll exceed expectations."

We are proud to announce that all four of our schools in district were recognized as a 2025-2026 National Beta School of Merit. Our schools earned this recognition by offering National Beta to all eligible grades on campus.
The National Beta School of Merit award is given to honor a club’s dedication and commitment to academic excellence. To achieve this prestigious honor, a school must include members from all eligible grade levels in their Beta club. This past year 6,103 clubs across the country received this award.
With more than 500,000 active members and 14,000 clubs nationally and internationally, National Beta has become the nation’s largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. National Beta recognizes outstanding achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement to school and community, and fosters leadership skills. National Elementary Beta includes grades 4-5, National Junior Beta includes grades 6-8 and National Senior Beta includes grades 9-12. Visit betaclub.org for more information.
