Our OHS Varsity Boys Cross Country team is in Arkansas this morning at the Chili Pepper Festival Cross Country races. Teams travel far and wide for this meet. They will be running in Boys El Caliente 2 at 10:00am. OHS will have 8 boys in this race.

Mark your calendars for Friday October 23rd (no Friday football) to come out to the OHS Big Gym for a night filled with fun as we celebrate the many talents of our GCR2 students from all 4 buildings!

Congratulations to our 7th Grade Dutchgirls Basketball team on winning the St. Clair Tournament Championship last night with a victory over St. James!
The Dutchgirls are off to an impressive 6-0 start to the season. Their next game will be the annual day game next Tuesday in St. James, where they will once again take on the Tigers in front of the St. James student body.
The 7th Grade Dutchgirls are coached by OMS Art teacher Savannah Campbell.

The book fair is currently going on at OES and GES! Students are reading all across GCR2 throughout the year. Here are some photos from this morning at the book fair, in the halls, and in classrooms of students reading.

Over the weekend, our OHS Cross Country team traveled to the Missouri Southern State University Stampede. Our Varsity Boys team walked away winning first place in the Gold Division! Individual medalists were Zach Holtmeyer (3rd) with a time of 15:58 for the 5k, and Cristopher Reyes (16th) with a time of 17:32.
The OHS FFA Trap Team placed first out of 22 teams at its first shoot of the year in Hermann on Saturday.
OHS Trap Team sponsor and Ag teacher Matt Ketcherside said, “They have improved a lot this year, and we have a lot of kids showing up every Sunday to practice and get better.”

OHS Troubadours had auditions for the All-District Choir on Saturday. Ten OHS students were selected for the All-District choir! Additionally, 4 of those 10 are eligible to try out for the Missouri All-State Choir in November! Congratulations to the OHS Troubadours!

Congratulations to the boys cross country team for winning the Tolton Catholic Invitational this past weekend. It is the first time the boys or girls team have ever won this meet. They finished in first out of 26 teams. Zach Holtmeyer in the Varsity competition and Max Altemeyer in the JV competition were medalists.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the Veterans and First Responders who joined us at the game last Friday night.

Dorothy Arens - Dorothy helped Jayce work on his assignment for Mrs. Tyree and was a good friend to him.
Leo Altemeyer - Leo took a leadership role in his Science LAB group to help each student find a job and a place to fit in. Such great sacrifice to set aside what he really wanted to do help the group succeed!
William Roofener - William has been a model student in classes. He has worked really hard on all his work and has even scored really well on the Star Testing. We wanted to show some recognition and how proud we are.
Chesten Adkisson - Without being asked, Chesten helped clean up his and other students messes after working on a class project.

Our elementary students spent some time this week using their art and words to create something for our Veterans and First Responders. Today, our high school students worked to display them. You can see these set up at the entrance to tonights Dutchmen Football game.
Today, we honor and remember September 11th, 2001. We give a sincere thank you to all of the Veterans and First Responders for the sacrifices they make for us every day.
