This past week on Wednesday, our Long-Range Facilities Committee met. This was an open invite meeting where teachers, administrators, board members, and community members alike were able to get together to discuss the following questions in groups:
1. What does our district do well that we should continue to do?
2. What does our district need to improve?
3. What are the biggest challenges we face now and in the future?
4. What ideas do you have to solve some of our biggest challenges?
5. How can we better engage parents and gain community support for district initiatives?
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the meeting on Wednesday. If you are interested in being involved in future Long-Range Facilities Committee meetings in the future, we love to hear from our community members!

Every year, GCR2 pairs with St. James to play a day basketball game for the 7th and 8th-graders in front of the student body. This year, our Dutchgirls are playing today in front of all of their peers in Owensville, and then our 7th and 8th-grade Dutchmen basketball teams will play in front of the St. James student body later this winter. It's a fun experience for the players and students alike! Let's go Dutchgirls!

Last week on Friday, Art students participated in East Central College’s High School Art Day. They attended various sessions on different mediums such as digital design, book binding, making paint, ceramics, fabric design, and sculpting.

Last week on Friday, Mrs. Aubuchon's OMS FACS class celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day! Students cut apples up earlier in the week and were able to enjoy homemade apple butter while they continued learning about Johnny Appleseed.

Just a reminder tomorrow, September 29th is a Professional Development Day for teachers. School will not be in session.
